Bengaluru will take on the high-flying Northeast in the Tuesday encounter of the Indian Football League 2020-21. Both sides are coming off a victory by keeping a clean sheet. 


Team Preview 


Bengaluru will meet North East in today’s Indian Football League encounter. Bengaluru finally opened its winning account after two consecutive draws. Sunil Chhetri scored his first goal of the season through a penalty. The Bengaluru skipper was in poor form in his first two games, and he looked better against Chennai. 

In the previous outings, Bengaluru was not in its prime form. The first half ended with nil-nil on the scoreline. In the 56th minute, the Blues won a penalty when Edwin Vanspaul brought down Cleiton Silva. Sunil Chhetri scored the goal, and Bengaluru took a 1-0 lead. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu denied Chennai any equaliser. 

Cuadrat’s men now have five points from three games, but they haven’t showcased its best game so far. They settle for one point with Goa after taking an early 2-0 advantage. In the second game, Hyderabad held them for a goalless draw. 

Meanwhile, Northeast’s start to 2020-21 is incredible. Under Gerard Nus, the Highlanders have picked up eight points from a possible 12. In the last encounter, they defeated East Bengal 2-0 to secure the season's second victory. 

Bengal lost Ashutosh Mehta early after receiving the yellow card in the second minute. Surchandra Singh scored an own goal in the 33rd minute to give an early lead to Northeast. Balwant Singh got an opportunity to find a leveler for East Bengal, but he couldn’t. In the second half, Northeast doubled the lead after Rochharzela’s strike through a super pass from VP Suhair. One more win can give Northeast a top spot in the table.

  Two South Indian clubs, Chennai and Bengaluru, square off in the Friday encounter of Indian Football League 2020-21 . The irony is that both sides are entering into this encounter with a goalless draw in the previous outing. Team Preview  Previous season’s silverware winner Chennai failed to score a goal against Kerala to share the spoils in its second encounter. Csaba Laszlo’s side started the campaign with a 2-1 victory against Jamshedpur. The first-half strikes from Anirudh Thapa and Goncalves assured three points against the Red Miners.
