Goa and Mumbai meet in the game week two of the Indian Football League 2020-21 to find their first victory. The hosts managed to avoid a defeat against Bangalore in a 2-2 draw, while Mumbai suffered a surprising 1-0 loss to North East. 


Team Preview 


The league topper of the previous season faces strong Mumbai in their second game of the Indian Football League at Fatorda Stadium. Goa will play against their former head coach Lobera for the first time this season. Juan Ferrando’s side held Bangalore to a 2-2- draw in their opening game after going two goals down. 

Angulo netted a brace to split the points with the Blues. In pre-season, Goa also lost to Hyderabad after coming out as the winner against Chennai. Edu Bedia and Lenny Rodrigues are crucial for Goa in midfield, following Seriton Fernandes at right-back. 

Meanwhile, Mumbai hadn’t expected a losing start against a side like North East. Kwesi Appiah’s penalty made all the difference, and Highlanders delivered a 1-0 loss to Lobera in his first game for Mumbai as manager. Islanders created more passes than the North East, but they couldn’t get the equaliser. For this game, Mumbai will miss the service of Jahouh, who picked a red card in the last match. 

Lobero can stick to a 4-2-3-1 formation with two potent strikers Fondre and Ogbeche. Fondre is the finest striker who took his A-League club to the title glory this year by scoring 20 goals, and Ogbeche was the joint top-scorer in 2019-20. 

Lobera would expect pre-season form in this vital fixture. The Islanders won three matches out of four friendlies by edging past Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. In Head-to-Head, Goa has the potential edge over Mumbai by winning seven games out of eleven. In 2019-20, Goa defeated Mumbai twice by scoring nine goals.

  Two South Indian clubs, Chennai and Bengaluru, square off in the Friday encounter of Indian Football League 2020-21 . The irony is that both sides are entering into this encounter with a goalless draw in the previous outing. Team Preview  Previous season’s silverware winner Chennai failed to score a goal against Kerala to share the spoils in its second encounter.   Bengaluru will take on the high-flying Northeast in the Tuesday encounter of the Indian Football League 2020-21 . Both sides are coming off a victory by keeping a clean sheet.  Team Preview  Bengaluru will meet North East in today’s Indian Football League encounter.
