Goa vs North East, Indian Football League 2020-21, Match Prediction

 


Goa will take on high-flying North East in Indian Football League 2020-21 to boost their points table game. Juan Ferrando’s side are sitting at the second spot from the bottom after losing to Mumbai in the previous game and North East occupies the second spot after adding four points from the first two. 


Team Preview 


Goa failed to replicate their last season’s performance in the first month of the Indian Football League. Last season’s shield winner and Super Cup winner Goa are winless after the first two matches. Juan Ferrando’s men somehow managed to avoid a defeat against Bengaluru after Angulo’s double strike in the second half. In the next outing, Lobero’s men cinched the thriller, courtesy of Adam le Fondre’s winner at the last minute. 

Goa cannot drop points on Monday as they can slip to the bottom if East Bengal adds three points on Tuesday. Redeem Tlang is suspended for one game after receiving the red card against Mumbai and Brandon Fernandes would start for Goa after the fine performance as substitute appearances in the first two matches. 

On the other hand, North East are highly boosted after securing the second spot in the table with 4 points. After a stunning victory against Mumbai, the Highlanders held Kerala for a 2-2 draw after going two -goals down in the first half. 

Appiah scored his second goal of the season to open the scoring for North East and Idrissa Sylla netted an equalizer in the 90th minute to spoil Vicuna’s party. Gerard Nus’side requires three points to top the table for the first time. Federico Gallego could be dropped today and Luis Machado will be back in the lineup. 

North East has defeated Goa twice in the previous 12 meetings, including five losses. The Highlanders were also on a losing side in its last meeting with Goa this year.

  Two South Indian clubs, Chennai and Bengaluru, square off in the Friday encounter of Indian Football League 2020-21 . The irony is that both sides are entering into this encounter with a goalless draw in the previous outing. Team Preview  Previous season’s silverware winner Chennai failed to score a goal against Kerala to share the spoils in its second encounter.   Bengaluru will take on the high-flying Northeast in the Tuesday encounter of the Indian Football League 2020-21 . Both sides are coming off a victory by keeping a clean sheet.  Team Preview  Bengaluru will meet North East in today’s Indian Football League encounter.
