Odisha will take on in-form Bengaluru to improve the struggling form in Indian Super League 2020-21. Odisha haven’t won a single game out of five, while Bengaluru is marching towards the top two spots.

Odisha’s campaign has been pretty poor, with four defeats and one win from the first five matches. Baxter failed to deliver the Gombau’s approach this season. One point from five matches is a serious concern, and Baxter’s men are sitting at the second place from the bottom, only ahead of East Bengal. Odisha have conceded seven goals and scored only two. 

In its last game, Goa defeated them 1-0, courtesy of Igor Angulo’s goal during stoppage time in the first half. For Odisha, Arshdeep was outstanding, and the Indian goalkeeper denied the Gaursseveral times, including a left-foot save for a brilliant shot from Angulo in the 64th minute. The 23-years old goalkeeper made eight saves out of nine shots on goal. Baxter would hope for some spark from its three major players Jerry Mawihmingthanga, Diego Mauricio, and Manuel Onwu. Onwu had zero shots on target, and Steven Taylor made eight clearances in the previous outing. 

Meanwhile, Bengaluru finally got the rhythm after some weak performance in the forward line. They haven’t tasted a defeat yet, but team performance was lacking in the draws. They added vital three points against Kerala in 6-goals thiller in Fatorda. The Blues have moved into the top four, and now they would aim to take the spot in the top two. Rahul Kannoly found his name on the scoresheet to start the scoring for Kerala. 

The poor error from Lalruthara helped the Blues to find the equaliser. Both were on 1-1 after the first half and the second half started with a cracking contest. Sunil Chettri missed the penalty in the 48th minute, but within five minutes, the Blues made the scoreline 3-1. Jordan Murray struck Kerala's second goal, but Sunil Chhetri scored a fine header in the 65th minute to write easy three points for Bengaluru.

  Two South Indian clubs, Chennai and Bengaluru, square off in the Friday encounter of Indian Football League 2020-21 . The irony is that both sides are entering into this encounter with a goalless draw in the previous outing.
